Officers and Snipers for Combat Zone
by Danny Stevenson

Not all officers are the same. Some are superb, and some are of no use at all.

These rules cover the use of Officers in the CZ game. Officers are an Individual, and can be of Hero quality although this is very rare (use Hero stats in rule book). Officers are free roaming and are not subject to Coherency rules.

An Officer may take over a Squad that has lost its NCO at 3AP cost. The officer is then subject to squad coherency rules. Squads/miniatures gain a +1 modifier to reaction tests if the officer is within unit 15cm. A force may not have more than one Officer.

Elite Officers:

These guys have a lot of experience and training and are the rarest of officers. Elite Officers are normally kept for special high risk missions.

Many have an enviable style and grace. It is common for them to wander through a battle almost casually shooting enemies. They prefer to lead by example, and often will lead from the front in an almost Heroic fashion.

Veteran Officers:

Experienced and grizzled officers tend to get into the thick of battle. They lead from middle of the group. These officers tend to be deployed where the fighting is the heaviest. They try not to get their men killed.

Green Officer:

Green Officers are the most common type of officer. They tend to be over eager and sticklers for the Corps rules E-book. Leadership styles vary, from charging over the horizon looking for glory, to giving the orders and sitting the battle out somewhere safe.

These officers will get often get most of their command killed and usually avoid combat.

Snipers:

Snipers are a valuable addition to any Corps force. They can keep the enemy in chaos and offer some support. Snipers are of Average, Veteran of Elite quality only. Snipers have an additional +1 on shooting to hit rolls after their quality bonus. No force may field more than one sniper. Snipers must be equipped with a sniper rifle.
